Nexus 4's KitKat Factory Image is out even before OTA

After pushing out the official Android 4.4 OTA(over-the-air) updates to almost all Wi-Fi versions of Nexus devices earlier in the week, Google has now made factory images and binaries available to even more. Yes even for Nexus 4, the 4.4 factory Image is all set for download on Google Developers Website.

If you are of the custom rom enthusiast or going to sell your device in near future then it is a good idea to keep a local copy of your device’s factory images just in case you ever need to go back to stock. Additionally, factory images can also be used to manually upgrade your Nexus device if you’re tired of waiting for an OTA update.

As of now,we’ve got Android 4.4 build KRT16O factory image and binary files for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2013 (both WiFi and LTE), and Nexus 7 2012 (both WiFi and data). Nothing yet for the Nexus 10 even though its OTA update has already begun to roll out.

Binaries: Nexus 4 | Nexus 7 (2013) | Nexus 7 (2012) | Nexus 10

How to install drivers on an unsupported operating system (Windows 7/8)

This is quiet a common issue that guys used to face with their 6 years old laptop/pc i.e., laptops at the time of windows vista. Even the OEM guys didn't extended their support to the new Operating systems (windows 7/ 8). So whom so ever want to upgrade to the latest will face this sort of issue of sure.

So here is the solution :

Download all the available drivers from the OEM website, vista or xp whatever supported driver out there or if you have a backup then do remember the path.

Step 1 : After installation of windows 7/8 OS open Device Manager, you may find this option under My Computer properties or under System in Control Panel.

In maximum cases the problem is with ATI and Webcam drivers, so in Device Manager the hardware's with exclamation mark indicates that the hardware isn't installed properly.

Step 2 : So, now Right click on that hardware and select Update Driver Software.. and browse the software manually instead of finding it online.

Step 3 : Wait until the installation complete and then restart your computer.

That's it, and you are done. You will find the difference for sure in the first restart itself. The same process is to be followed with the other hardware too.
