2 Best note taking apps for android and chrome

As we all know the default note taking apps in samsung sony and in other OEM operating systems aren't cloud based apps. So if we thought of formatting the machine without any idea of backup the content, the text in the memo may be lost for ever.

So it would be better to prefer cloud based apps, here am going to list out 2 apps which are unique in there functionality and best of their kind.

1. Gnotes :

The position of this app in this post reflects its priority i have given to it. The Interface is simple and clean, syncs with google accounts, also has a web-based app [https://gnotes.me/signon]. So what ever you type gets in sync with this web-app. Even has the options to backup content to sd card, security [pin n pattern locks], reminder and the dark theme apart from the apps default white theme is just awesome.

The app is also available for apple and for chrome as an extension.

official website and download links : https://gnotes.me/signon

2. Tasks :

Yes tasks is what you have noticed in gmail. As google hasn't developed an official tasks app for android here goes an app that gets the things done. Even there's an extension for google chrome. As it is not the app we are discussing here but there's a space allotted for taking notes and the reminder, lists and task completed are the apps default.

To download just point your phone's browser at m.grooveshark.com

This one too does the same job as of soundhound but reliable in what it does as the app is developed only for tracking the id of the tracks the output is quite sharp n accurate. Not only the artist biographies track id also gets you the youtube link of the track you just recorded and also ability to share instantly on your facebook wall. The UI of the app is cool and beautiful to work out with.

Google Authenticator : Automatic 2-Step verification code generator [Android]

Here in this post I am going to let you know guys how important is to activate Two-step Verification and why to prefer Google Authenticator  over SMS verification.

It is obvious that you may feel li'l inconvenience at the begining because each time whenever you want to login from a new system not the one you usually use may ask for verification. So in general the account takes SMS verification as default. This is fast reliable and instant only if the signal of your network provider is strong. Otherwise if you are in vacation or moved to some other remote areas this could be a headache issue. So you wont receive a message and until unless you enter the verification code you can't even see the loading page.

So the solution for this issue is again from Google itself . Google Authenticator for Android, iPhone and Blackberry.

What it does ?
It is an app which keep on generating verification codes for every minute. The app doesn't relay on any networks and internet connection. It is completely an offline application.

Google Authenticator multiple accounts support

So how to make use of this app ?
Like others download the app from Google Play Store and install it. Now on your desktop/laptop go through your Google accounts > Security > Two step verification > Edit > How to receive codes > Mobile application and select the platform (Android, iPhone, Blackberry).

Now its time to configure Google Authenticator. In Google Authenticator, select Scan a barcode. So use your phone's camera to scan the barcode. When the application is configured, type the code generated in the  required field and click Verify.

That's it.

So here after when you are infront of a new system just tap the authenticator app, enter the generated code and you are done.

Note: Upon activating two step verification applications like Instant messengers and Chrome Sync doesn't work.
So for this you need to generate Application specific password and enter the generated password for first time to login.

For example if you are using Gtalk or other Instant messengers like Pidgin or Nimbuzz they just deny's your login credentials.  So for this you need to go through your Google accounts > Security > Two step verification > Edit > Application Specific password > Manage

Enter a name in the required field as shown in the below image and click on Generate password.

Now enter the generated password in field of password (of instant messenger Pidgin,Gtalk, Nimbuzz etc). And this is one time password no need to remember. Once logged in you are done. From next time onwards enter you regular password to login.

So coming to advantages over activating two step verification is....you probably got a clear idea of how the app and other things work right. Everything is under your control. Right from Generating codes to the applications dealing with Google accounts.

In breif : Just login with your password plus a code which get from your phone.

Best Top 2 Call Blocker apps for Android

Call blockers, these days its gone essential for each and everyone not only for women but also for men. Inspite of activating do not disturb DND service calls n messages keep on irritating. And the other things you probably know for what actually people look for before buying a mobile phone is for call blocker, call divert n voice mail.

Guys usually irritates women and so does the girls too. And boss irritates even when you on leave and customer care usually a headache at times when you are busy.

So for all these there are couple of smart apps for smart users i.e., for guys with droid devices.

1. Mr.Number :

This is an app I found to be bit innovative, cool and reliable and its functionality as a call/text blocker is awesome. The app is not just a call blocker but also a free texting app too. The tag line of the app "every phone should work this way" perfectly defines for what it is meant for. It just replaces the phones default dailer, logs n contacts simplifies and arranges accordingly, the most contacted at top.

And coming to call/text blocker the app has two reliable options to deal with a contact

a.) Pickup and hang up and
b.) Send to Voicemail

PickUp and Hang Up : Lifts the call for a second and then shuts down.
Send to Voicemail : If a blocked person call you, he/she is then notified that you are busy taking a call, so call after sometime.

Fast free texting to friends on Mr. Number :
When your friends use Mr. Number your text messages are automatically free, faster, and you’ll know when they’ve been delivered and read. Friends see when you’re free for a call, when your ringer is off, when you are sending all calls to voicemail, and even when you are in airplane mode.

App screenshots :

There's yet lot more to learn and know about this app. so just go through the Official website : http://mrnumber.com/

Mr.Number - Google Play (Android)

2. NQ Mobile call blocker

Nq mobile call blocker does the things exactly for what it is developed for. Apart from call/text block the app features contacts backup, Privacy Eraser and Privacy space(premium).

The apps user interface is cool and one does'nt feel inconvience using the app as everything what the app does has been simplified under 6 categories as Blocked Calls, Blocked sms, Blacklist, Backup, Privacy Eraser and Privacy space ( for premium users).

App screenshots :

There is no pick up and hang up feature under call blocker. So the contacts under backlist will be send to voicemail (as busy).

So it is up to you, which one to prefer. If it is my turn I prefer Mr.number over Nq mobile call blocker.

How to Usb/WiFi tether a Samsung device without Kies [Android]?

Connecting a phone to a system and accessing the mobile net on desktop/laptop is always a mess job. And to do this a common task that should be performed inorder to "transfer data" or to "connect to the internet" is to install a PC Suite. Every OEM has their own PC Suite's. So, got a new mobile then should be thorough with installation and connection setup process.

Connecting the mobile to a system and accessing internet is damn easy if your were aware with PDaNet. So inorder to get rid of this PC Suite installation every time when ever you are before a new computer just go with this PDanet it is just 3mb in size. And also there is an app for Android. I have tested this, it is 100% safe secure and reliable.

Installation Process.[For Android Devices] :

1. First of all download and install the following app PDanet from Play store/Android Market.
2. Now download the (dot)exe file for PC from here.
3. During installation a popup window appears on screen says to connect the device to the computer.
4. Upon connecting the device to the computer "Found new hardware device" window pops up. Click next>>
5. Then another popup windows appears asks whether to continue installation anyway or to stop. Here you have to go with "Continue Anyway". This may appear two to three times and all the times you have to go with continue anyway.
6. Setup continues...that's it.
7. Now after pc installation go through the app on the device and select Usb/Wifi tether. So after turning on  Usb/Wifinow right click on the PDaNet(mobile icon) on the taskbar and select connect to the internet.

Thats it and you are done. This is the best way to connect. I personally recommend this software over pc suites because PC suites are larger in size, takes time to install and in some cases when you are working on windows XP problems may arise during installation. "May ask for internet connection or to insert disk".

So why all this heck....just carry this simple nifty application and install where ever and when ever you need.

App Screen shots [Android] :

PdaNet also bundles a cool "SMS Agent" feature which allows you to send/receive SMS directly from your computer.

All this installation and setup process is upto Samsung [Android]. The PdaNet is also available for Nokia iPHONE Blackberry and Palm OS.
